The Minimum Wage Determination Commission, in accordance with Article 8 of the Minimum Wages Law No. 22/1975 as amended, determined the new monthly minimum wage in North Cyprus to officially be 7,000.- Turkish lira (Gross) as of January 01, 2022. After the rollercoaster week of highs and extreme lows faced by the Turkish Lira near the end of the year 2021, several meetings were held by the Minimum Wage Determination Commission whereby it was decided by a majority of votes that the new Minimum Wage as of 01/01/2022 would be: This was formally announced by Erman Yaylali, the chairman of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission.
